Week wrap-up

I know, I have been such a bad blogger this week. The 2 nights I actually wanted to blog, I had Internet issues, so I couldn't do it anyway.

It was a busy week. Monday, I brought M to her preschool for a kind of meet and greet session with her new class. We found out that 2 of her friends from her EI play group are going to be in her class. I think that made her feel better. We also got to meet her new teacher. I am so excited this year. Her new teacher is young and really seems to be excited about the up coming year. I will admit I never got that impression from M's old teacher. It was more like she was phoning it in. We have an open House to go to next week, so we can talk to her some more. I also signed up for the PTU (Parent Teacher Union), that should be interesting.

Thursday morning, A called me from the EI center and asked if I minded her bringing a team over to do an assessment on P. I had told her I was interested in P being a model in the 18mo -3yr play group like M was. So, they came over and did an assessment on him to make sure he is age level and would qualify to be a model. He did awesome and did some things that I didn't know he could do. LOL I'm such an observant mom. He is 16.5 mos (but the called him 16mos because they don't round up) and he scored at above 20mos for most of the things. His gross motor was 18 mos because he refuses to go down the stairs backwards. Eh, he gets down them, so who cares. Anyway, he was supposed to start in October after he turns 18mos, but they are letting him start in September when he is 17 months. I think it will be good for him and he will go while M is in school. It will make my Wednesday mornings very hectic, but I'm sure we will manage.

Today, we went to A's house for a play group. The kids had a lot of fun. Then we went to the mall for a bit. The kids had fun throwing pennies into the fountain. M said she wished for more princess Barbie dolls. Apparently the pile of them that she has is not enough. I think the whole day really wore them out. They both dropped right off to sleep tonight. I think sadly that M has just about given up her naps. She never really sleeps anymore. I'm hoping once she starts back at school she will take them again. It would be nice.

The part for my car is in, so hopefully after tomorrow, there will be no more knocking when I drive. Keep your fingers crossed.

Desiderata is still on the scroll frames. I hope to have an update soon!
