Nutcracker experience

I took M to wee the Nutcracker yesterday. Not the Boston Ballet version, but was put on by Dance Prism. It was a lot of fun watching M experience her first ballet. Her review consisted of loving the dancing and the pretty dresses. She really seemed to enjoy herself and when we read the story after, she remembered the scenes from the performance. I took that to mean that she was following what was happening. As for my review, I love the nutcracker, but I thought the dancing was just so-so. It looked like they didn't have a lot of rehearsal time. The men looked ancient and half of them couldn't lift the women very well without almost dropping them. It was embarrassing. Some of the women have balance issues. One thing that I did like was not all of the girls were anorexic looking. But, a couple of girls should have gotten better support for their costumes if you know what I mean. We almost got a "real show" that we didn't pay for. I know I'm getting picky, but it was hard not to notice these things. I guess the important thing is that M had fun and really enjoys it.

I haven't been stitching much at all. I think i have been too tired at night to think about picking up a needle. I have been reading a ton though and catching up on my DVR. Things are settling down and believe it or not, December looks pretty quiet. I stitched a bit last night, so I'm hoping to get back into he swing again soon. I am getting a kid free weekend next week, so I plan to spend a lot of time catching up on my stitching!
