Big Boy...

P had his 18 month well visit yesterday. He did really well, except he didn't like the flu shot. He now weighs 24lbs 15oz, is 32 inches tall. The ped told me she heard a heart murmur, but said this can be pretty common and should go away on its own. My boss (the ped cardiologist confirmed this). Nothing to worry about. I will admit that I do have a bit of worry in the back of my mind, but I think that is normal for a mom.

I heard about this story on the radio yesterday. This is just another example of how our society has become sue happy. I mean there has to be something really wrong with that woman if her day was ruined because the flowers were off color. At most, get a refund, but 400K worth of reimbursement? Give me a break! It looks like someone is trying to get her entire wedding paid for. Did you notice she is a lawyer?

I've been in a stitching funk lately. I think I'm just mentally tired. I think I'm going to start organizing my stash a bit better. Maybe fondling some stash will get me back into my groove. Of course, it could be that I am just drained at night. *sigh*

Get it right, already

While sitting in the waiting room at the doc's office today, I caught a few minutes of a soap opera. I confess I have no idea which one it was since I don't watch them . The scene featured a very haggard looking Jack Wagner (Blech, he USED to be cute)and some chick that looked like a porn star with full makeup and perfectly combed hair (OK they ruffled it up slightly). She was in the throws of giving birth. Of course there is a crisis, but at the last second she is able to dramatically give that one last push and out comes a perfectly clean and very 10 week old looking baby. I almost laughed out loud at the entire scene. I really wish that for once a TV show would act out a birth more like it really happens. It's 2007, people. Birth is not that neat and tidy. Let's get a little real. Yes, it is TV and I shouldn't put much thought into it. I just had to rant about it for a moment.

I attended my first PTU (Parent-Teacher union) meeting last week. I am not running for VP and helped the pres count pie orders and money. This is kind of fun though. We have moved into the next phase of our lives. M is in school and I'm involved with the PTU. LOL

Not much else has been going on. My EGA chapter is having a needlework exhibit at a frame shop in Rowley MA. There was an open house for it on Saturday night. We had a food and wine reception. 2 people who weren't members of the chapter showed up. I had a feeling that would happen.

Stitching wise, I have taken a little break from the rotation and have been working on a needle roll that I started in Hershey. I hope to finish that this week. Watch this space....

Pre-school rant

A big (sarcastic) thank you to the powers that be at M's pre-school. I am so looking forward to attending open house on my birthday next month. I have always wanted to celebrate by sitting in presentations from the school nurse and principal.

It was an accident in the pull-up at nap free day today! Maybe we won't need another incentive after all. I can only hope, right?

I tried to stitch the last 3 hours of my rotation, but my brain is just too tired. Yes, I was too tired to stitch. Stitching usually relaxes me, but since I am tired, it was putting me to sleep. Better luck tomorrow night.
